Stoos ridge hike is a Swiss classic for beginners. The well-maintained trail runs entirely along the ridge above the village of Stoos, between the upper stations of the Klingenstock and Fronalpstock chairlifts. As the trail goes up and down, you gain the specified meters of altitude without losing eye contact with the stunning panoramas of Lake Lucerne and its surroundings. Unfortunately, the route is very popular – a large number of people on the trail is unavoidable on weekends. Early rise in this case will not help, as chair lifts start working only at 9 o'clock. So try to choose weekdays outside of school holidays. Good luck!
